Richard Roche
Richard Roche - Teacher and Award-Winning Coach
Flemington, New Jersey resident Richard Roche holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Hobart College and a master’s in education from Villanova University. Richard Roche has extensive experience teaching academic curricula and coaching basketball.
Early in his career, Richard Roche coached basketball in multiple New York educational institutions including the New York Institute of Technology and Farmingdale State College. He subsequently served as a teacher and basketball coach at Saint Anthony's High School in South Huntington. Working at the school for nearly a decade, he taught courses including American history, government, and economics. From 1997 to 2006, he was the head basketball coach and assistant athletic director at Geneva, New York-based Hobart College. While coaching at the college, he was named coach of the year multiple times and led the basketball team to numerous successes, including earning a ranking among the top 20 teams in the country in NCAA Division III. More recently, he served in the roles of district athletic director at Lindenhurst Public Schools for four years and director of athletics at Notre Dame High School for 12 years.
